Fall in the Financial District
Fall is all about comfy, cozy, and all things neutral. Spending my first fall in NYC, I have noticed that things are a bit more elevated in these boroughs. While I would love to slide into some fabulous heels or lace up some oh so sexy thigh high boots, my Midwestern gracefulness (sarcasm) simply won't allow that. Especially in the cobbled streets of the Financial District. Instead, I tread safely with classic boots. Thankfully, they are one of the best fall basics and you can find them pretty much anywhere. But you can find my favorite pair here!
Following suit with the basic "Fall girl" uniform is a nice, comfortable, and oh so familiar black pair of skinny jeans. I don't think any fashion blogger would disagree with the structure and familarity of a great pair of black skinnies. My absolute favorite pair are from the Plus line at Charlotte Russe. They are stretchy, high waisted, and stay rich and dark through many washes. I have repurchased multiple pairs over the years. You can't go wrong.
The end all be all of the perfect fall wardrobe is of course a leather jacket. I have multiple colors because what is conservative, am I right? They are the perfect amount of warmth, come in so many beautiful colors, and for those animal lovers out there (raises hand) the alternatives out there are buttery and luxurious without being harmful. Again, I have purchased all of my current leather jackets from Charlotte Russe. They really are a titan in the plus size industry and I LOVE their items.
As with any look, you should always aim to top off a style with your own touch. I paired the look with a button up denim shirt and a handmade, black and brown chevron scarf from Peru! Make this look your own but remember, pairing any unique pieces with a leather jacket, black skinnies, and black ankle boots will be sure to be a hit!
